The Last Judgment by Stefan Lochner, c. 15th century.

We’re leaping ahead to Chapters 32,33 this week in the Confession (don’t worry–we’ll circle back).  Those chapters concern death, resurrection, and judgment.  We felt like the themes of perseverance and assurance warranted a completion of the discussion on the outworking of redemption in us.  So, feel free to peruse those chapters. It might also do us all good to read 1 Corinthians 15 in advance of our gathering, too.

If Christ is not raised, Paul says, then we [Christians] are to be pitied above all men–not only because we’d be deceived, but because we’d still have no solution to our sin.
