A church properly positioned:
So this last Sunday we considered what it means, in part, to observe the Sabbath, acknowledging at the outset that believing men and women differ as to whether the fullness of what Sabbath observance was from Old Testament times remains in effect with the coming of Jesus.
I think we agreed that even if you differ on the precise contours of Sabbath observance there is warrant for the three dimensions of preparation, abstention, and attention.
Philip Ryken penned a post this week about how to listen to sermons. You will find that listening includes all three of those aforementioned dimensions. So click here for Ryken’s post and perhaps make application of our lesson on Chapter 21 in the Confession by employing his suggestions for better listening. It requires more of you but it provides you more in return. Like much of life, no?
